CIP Projects 2007-08
On-going projects are listed below. Project documents are included for each project and are updated periodically.
Pavement Management Program
Description: Pavement rehabilitation efforts throughout the City. To see current schedule of street improvements click project title.
Status: 2007-08 project going out to bid on March 27, 2008 includes work on McCormick Ct, Center Street, and Opal Street between 49th and Prospect
Documents: Implementation Program
Capitola Road Traffic Calming
Description: Traffic Calming improvements between 45th Avenue and 41st Avenue along Capitola Road, including new crosswalks at 42nd Avenue.
Status: Project is funded and currently in final design. Anticipated construction Summer 2008
Esplanade Restroom Remodel
Description: Remodel of restrooms at Esplanade Park to expand number of toilets and related fixtures.
Status: Construction contract has been awarded. Construction scheduled for April & May.
Bay Avenue Sidewalk Project
Description: Construction of new sidewalks along south side of Bay Avenue from Grady’s Market to Monterey Avenue.
Status: In final design. Anticipated construction: Summer 2008
Depot Hill Drainage Study
Cortez Park Playground Improvements
Description: Removal and replacement of old steel pipe playground equipment. New play area to be relocated next to other play area. See proposed plan by clicking project title.
Status: Design complete. Funding availability being reviewed.
Stockton Avenue Sidewalk
Description: Reconstruction of the sidewalks in front of Polar Bear Ice Cream. Project includes crosswalk improvements on Stockton Avenue.
Status: Project on hold while City completes Village Traffic & Parking Improvement Study (see below).
Clares Street Traffic Calming
Description: Traffic calming and pedestrian improvements along Clares Street from 41st Avenue to Wharf Road to be completed in conjunction with the Rispin project. Project includes pedestrian crossings at 42nd Avenue and 46th Avenue.
Status: Plan line design has been completed. Final design to begin with Rispin construction. Estimated construction Summer 2009.
Jewel Box Traffic Calming
Description: Consideration of various traffic diverting methods to reduce the level of cut through traffic on the Jewel Box streets.
Status: Community plan meeting to be scheduled in the next 2 months.
